Griffin Glasshouses Are Proud Donate a Record Amount to The National Garden Scheme!

We have been key partners of the National Garden Scheme for over a decade and this year marked 11 years of our partnership. We are delighted to be able to continue to support their wonderful work!

Our Managing Director, Linda Lane along with some of our team, were down in London again this year at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024 to showcase our work on the Griffin Glasshouses stand.

Amongst all the hustle and bustle of Chelsea, Linda managed to find the time to make her way over to the National Garden Scheme show garden, where she presented the Chair of the National Garden Scheme, Rupert Tyler, and Chelsea show garden designer Tom Stuart-Smith, with a cheque for £35,620 – our largest EVER donation to NGS! A big thank you to all of our customers, who through the sales of our glasshouses, enabled us to support the NGS in their mission to provide access to over 3,500 incredible private gardens across the UK whilst raising cash for

Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, the Carer’s Trust, The Queen’s Nursing Institute and Parkinson’s UK.

Our Glasshouses at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024

This year at Chelsea, we took along three of our glorious Victorian greenhouses to London to feature on our stand, two of the three were part of our exclusive National Garden Scheme glasshouse range that fundraise for the NGS; the bespoke NGS Thyme and the esteemed NGS Lavender.

The NGS Thyme is a robust and reliable choice for all keen gardeners and horticulturalists, with an attractive porch feature and plenty of space for staging and beds. The NGS Lavender, is a much larger glasshouse that’s a perfect match for keen gardeners with an eye for all-year-round growing. It contains a huge variety of internal lay out options to keep your plants safe and in optimal growing conditions no matter what the weather is doing outside!

The NGS range

Griffin Glasshouses has a National Garden Scheme collection of eight glasshouse designs. These popular designs have been put together as an exclusive collection to suit the needs of all gardens whether they happen to be large or small, and though in pre-defined designs, there are many customisable elements that our customers add onto their NGS glasshouse.

Take a look at the NGS Range:

  • Thyme: with a footprint 2.6m x 3.7m and a front facing feature porch
  • Sorrel: footprint of 2.6m x 3.7m, with a gable end door
  • Fennel: gable end door like the Sorrel design, but with a footprint of 2.6m x 4.9m
  • Sage: a larger version of the Thyme with a footprint of 2.6m x 4.9m
  • Rosemary: offering more space and a traditional Victorian glasshouse design, with a footprint of 3m x 4.9m
  • Lavender: wider and longer than the Rosemary, this 3.6m x 6.5m glasshouse offers an array of internal layout options
  • Tarragon: at 3.6m x 8.1m, this design features a double door, perfect for wheelbarrow access, and plenty of internal space making it perfect for growing, or entertaining!
  • Coriander: our largest design in the NGS range, the Coriander is 4.2m x 11.3m and has a full porch with double doors, and is large enough to indulge every planting passion you might have!

The classic Victorian greenhouse designs in this range have proven to be perennially popular with our customers and so it was a true pleasure to be able to present the cheque to NGS. And so, ? until next year!
