Greenhouse Details
This beautifully constructed Victorian greenhouse is a practical and aesthetic asset to Roger Taylor thanks to the following features:
- Ample room for their needs, with dimensions of 5m x by 3m
- Traditional Victorian style architectural features including steep-pitched roofs
- The design fits wonderfully with their garden design
- A powder-coated aluminium frame provides a durable, maintenance free structure
- Toughened glass can withstand falling items such as apples or fir cones
- The door locks for safety
- Also, double glazing on the door improves heat conservation
He will use it to over-winter garden plants such as pelargoniums, tender salvias, diascias and dahlia tubers.
“ I have already started to develop a small collection of plants from warm temperate regions in the glasshouse and will also use it for the propagation of new plants from seed and cuttings,” says Roger.
Why Griffin Glasshouses?
Roger first saw a Griffin glasshouse at Coton Manor in Northamptonshire. He instantly fell in love with the quality and design of the structure. Subsequently, he contacted the family-run business to discuss his own preferences for a Victorian greenhouse.
Going the Extra Mile
Roger lives in a conservation area and the house is listed. Therefore, it was necessary to obtain planning consent. Griffin Glasshouses kindly managed this process for the client. We could also assist with practical advice on nurturing plants in the greenhouse.
“It was reassuring to know that Griffin has extensive family experience in producing crops under glass so their advice was based on sound practical knowledge,” adds Roger.
